Etihad Airways is the National Airline of the United Arab Emirates. The airline was set up by a Royal decree in July 2003, with Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, as its hub. Etihad is Arabic for “united” – a symbol of the link between the 7 emirates that constitute the UAE. Etihad started commercial operations in November 2003. Their vision is to touch 70 international destinations by the year 2010. The airline received the British Travel Awards 2008 “Airline of the Year”.

First Class
If you are travelling in Diamond first class on one of Etihad’s new A340-500 aircraft, you will experience their new Diamond First Suites which feature seats that rotate 180 degrees —and recline into 6 ft 8-inch flat beds. Each seat comes with pneumatic lumbar support, a six-way movement headrest and a built-in massage facility. The seats have power access, 2 USB ports and an RCA socket to connect your laptop. Each Diamond First Suite has a privacy shell ensuring maximum space and direct access to the aisles. Within this space is a range of facilities, including a mini-bar, a fold-and-swivel meal table, an integrated personal mirror, magazine rack, reading light and desk lamp.

A chauffeur drive service is also available at both ends of the journey (destination and distance restrictions apply).

Business Class
The Pearl business class in Etihad’s new fleet of aircraft — including the two-class A330-200s, the A340-500s and the Boeing 777-300 ERs —offers a business class seat which reclines 180 degrees into a fully flat 6 ft 1-inch bed. With an 88-inch pitch and direct access to the aisle, the Pearl business class seat offers space and privacy. Each seat is equipped with individual lighting and a reading lamp. There’s also a built-in massage facility plus cabin mood lighting system — which is synchronised with the time and duration of your journey.

Economy Class
The Coral economy class in Etihad’s new fleet of aircraft — including the two-class A330-200, the A340-500 and the Boeing 777-300 ER offers ergonomically designed seats with lumbar support, headrests and footrests. The cradle recline feature lets you lean back in a more natural position. With a seat pitch of up to 33 inches, their new Coral economy class seat is also among the widest and spacious in comparable cabins.

Cuisine
A range of cuisine is available in all classes. The selection and presentation is based on the level of grade selected.
